Painted from life in the Lancashire countryside in the Summer of 2018, the painting is part of my “Lancashire Plein Air” project which you can find out more about here.
This particular painting proved to be more difficult than I anticipated. Because the majority of the interest was close to the horizon I had to pay close attention to the perspective of the lane and details such as the house on the skyline. I was quite fortunate that the clouds shown to the left in the piece introduced another element to help balance the composition.
If you would like to know more about this particular piece or organise a studio visit to see the painting in person then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
